PADS 2.0.13.3 release and FreePBX update
There has been a new release of the PIKA Application Development Suite, PADS, to version 2.0.13.3. This update provides many improvements to the WARP appliance since the last time we released a build of FreePBX on the WARP here. The most significant fix is FAX over BRI now works properly. If you suffered from fax failures using BRI lines, you should use this update.
As always, this means I roll out another new version of FreePBX on top of it. This time there is not a lot of changes to the FreePBX code base. There have been several changes to the code base to make it easier to compile. If FreePBX ever failed to compile for you, I would try again on this load.
Most of the fixes in the release are from the PADS version we are using. These fixes include:
- UK caller ID may contain a ‘-’ which is not removed by chan_pika and therefore Asterisk cannot parse the number. Chan_pika new removes any invalid patterns in the number, including ‘-’.
- Fax over BRI fails. Due to a variety of reasons (e.g. coming out of power saving mode), on a single BRI module Warp, the module would switch to internal clock and never switch back to receiving clock from the remote switch. The audio path was corrupted due to clock slips which caused media functions, such as Fax, to fail. The BRI driver now determines if there is a single BRI module present and ensures that the current framer will clock from the remote switch when the signals become available again.
- The cid_name and cid_num were not checked properly for null values when used with Asterisk 1.2, causing a Segmentation Fault when a call is received. Asterisk 1.4 doesn’t present this problem because the caller id is set before, when the internal channel is created. Now cid_name and cid_num are checked for null values.
