Some months ago, I had the need to connect two WARPs together that were both equipped with Asterisk GUI 2. It was recommended to me to use IAX, but I was not told how to do it. After some difficulty, I finally figured out something that worked for me. Originally I thought this was just me being inexperienced, but as I have began to realize, it really isn’t that straight forward. As I have mentioned in previous blogs, I have a strong personal interest in all things related to the quality of VoIP conversations. Specifically those involving PIKA’s WARP appliance. During my trip to India, I was fortunate enough to be introduced to a company by the name of eRoads Technology who share my passion for VoIP and the importance of QOS. I’m excited that they have graciously volunteered some of their own time and bandwidth to experiment with technologies I feel have the potential to make a QOS impact using WARP. During the next few weeks, I plan on working with the folks at eRoads to put these QOS tools to work in some real world scenarios. Stay tuned for some VoIP QOS adventures from the far far East!
