What started as a few scribbles on a whiteboard last summer has now reached a major milestone…..general availability of the BRI module for the WARP appliance. At least we are celebrating it today, the actual formal announcement will not happen until early next week. Our European customers have been patient and very helpful throughout the Alpha and Beta stages and we thank you for the feedback provided to this point. With this release, we now look forward to successes with all your BRI based solutions.
Keep an eye out next week for the formal announcement, and the technical details to hit the PIKA website

Recognizing that for some of you these may be useful additions to your WARP based solution I‘ll briefly describe a few of them. Continue Reading »

Our previous releases of FreePBX have all used sqlite3 as the back end database. We have been running into problems with this as not all of the modules for FreePBX seem to properly support sqlite3. Fair enough, it was designed to use MySQL. So we figured we would try a version of FreePBX on the WARP using MySQL as the database back end. We are now ready to release a version of this for people to try. Read on if you are interested.

For the last several months John and I (John Kumhr, PIKA Bus. Dev. for OEM and Service Providers) have been spending time learning as much as we can about the pros and cons of Hosted PBX solutions. In particular, we have been trying to determine some of the technical “real world” challenges that exist for providers of such services, and in turn, how WARP could address some of these challenges. After much discussion with service providers and hosted PBX solution providers, John and I have identified several opportunities where value can be added at the customer’s location. As I share them with you, I ask you to consider if your WARP based solution (or one that could be ported to WARP) is appropriate to resolve one or multiple of these problems.
