When deploying the PIKA Warp appliance in the field, there is a high probability that the Warp will be behind a firewall. Unless there is a VPN client running on the Warp, the only way to access it is to open the ssh port on the firewall. But the firewall (router) is not necessarily accessible by the Warp’s installers.
This post will go through the steps to incorporate openVPN into an image using PADS.

Many people have asked for support for Aastra XML scripts on the WARP, including posts on our forum here and here. So I endeavored to create a package that can be installed on WARP Enterprise. I think I have succeeded but I would love to get feedback on this.
The package I have created contains version 2.2.1 of the Aastra XML scripts and version 2.5.1 of the firmware and language packs. To get further details on how to install the package on the WARP and what it can do, please read here.

In order to use FreePBX on your Warp appliance you will need to update the software images on your unit. Typically, applications developers use PADS (PIKA’s Application Development Suite) to build the software images themselves and then use the utilties in PADS to install the images on the Warp. Fortunately, for those who don’t want to get involved with PADS, there is another way: You can copy the pre-compiled FreePBX images and an automated script to a USB stick and let the script install the images on your Warp for you. The detailed procedure is decribed below. Continue Reading »
